Job Description and Requirements
Engicon – a leading Engineering Consulting Company in Jordan - is seeking to hire an Agricultural Engineer to work at one of its projects in Jordan, with following qualifications:
•Minimum BA degree in Agricultural Engineering or any related field.
•A minimum of five years of experience in a related field preferably in extension work and or training of farmers
•Willing to travel and overnight stays in the project area (Ma’an, Wadi Mousa).
•Willing to work directly with farmers and local stakeholders.
•Excellent communication skills that covers both agronomic topics and management issues.
The position will require the incumbent to perform the following tasks:
•Establish contacts with target farmers in Ma’an and Wadi Mousa, which requires overnight stays in the project area.
•Assess the needs of farmers with regard to livelihood enhancement through agriculture.
•Organize and provide training on agronomic topics to support the decision making for improved cropping patterns (land preparation, fertilizers, irrigation system, crop selection, harvesting techniques, silage making,)
•Organize and supervise the establishment of demo sites for efficient forage production.
•Supervise the rehabilitation of existing systems
•Monitor the performance of demo sites (water demand, growth, yield...) and rehabilitated areas.
•Coordinate sampling of crops and soils for chemical analysis.
•Prepare field reports/ monitoring reports and support the reporting of the Team Leader to the project.
