Job Description and Requirements
Reports to: Head of IT Development.
Department: IT & Operations.
Job Description:
•Designing, developing, testing and deploying end-to-end solutions for our main website and our internal content management system.
•Working with designers to convert designs into well-structured, flexible HTML/CSS/ JavaScript.
•Providing mentorship for junior developers.
TECHNICAL SKILS:
•Well-versed in fundamental development disciplines and principles
•3+ years’ experience with Java and/or Groovy & Grails
•Solid knowledge and understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, and web interface development
•Experience with Spring and Hibernate
•SQL (ideally MySQL)
•An understanding of scalable web applications (caching, clustering, grid computing,etc.)
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
•Git ( or similar source control )
•Experience with Travel Industry is big plus
REQUIREMENTS:
•Degree in computer science or similar discipline
•Exposure to web frameworks like Lift, Play, Roo, Ruby On Rails, Django, etc.
•Payment Gateway / e-commerce experience
•Experience of working in an agile/SCRUM environment
•Linux scripting/admin useful
•Team-oriented but able to work autonomously
•Ability to work well under pressure and maintain deadlines
•Excellent communication abilities across an organization7
•Having at Least 3 years of experience with developing a travel website.
