Job Description and Requirements
1.) Identify potential clients for Sales Executives to follow up on in order to ensure the continual profitability of the department.
2.) Maximise the exposure of the division, both locally as well as internationally by using cost effective media promotionals in order to project Freightworks as an effective logistics provider.
3.) Identify and develop cost effective and comprehensive logistics solutions for clientele so as to ensure freight arrives as quickly and as economically as possible.
4.) Maintain and monitor the expenditure data for the section so that cost effectiveness and overall profitability for the division is achieved.
5.) Keep abreast of the changing market situations involving freight forwarding, documentary procedures, tariffs, etc. so as to be able to implement innovative strategies and maintain a leading edge over competitors.
6.) Maintain close liaison with agents abroad with regard to sales leads so as to ensure shipments arrive well within stipulated time frame and meets customers satisfaction.
7.) Responsible for establishing competitive rates by co-ordinating and networking with airlines, shipping companies and sub-contractors to ensure Freightworks have a competitive standing in the market place.
8.) Establish a Freight Forwarding tariff and implement a new/revised tariff whenever necessary to increase revenue for the section so as to ensure continued profitability.
1.) Customer Service and Orientation - The Job holder has to determine the needs and manage the expectations of both internal and external customs and deliver products/services to best meet those requirements.
2.) Planning & Organising - The Job holder is required to plan ahead and produce a plan of work in which tasks are prioritised and actioned to meet requirements.
3.) Team Orientation - The Job holder requires the ability to work with and support others as part of a team both within and across function, and understands the need to work together to achieve a common departmental goal.
4.) Communication Skills - As the job involves constant interaction with clients, the Job holder is required to have excellent communication skills so as to be able to effectively meet customers requirements.
5.) Attention to Detail and Quality - The job demands that the Job holder meets strict deadlines hence the need to consistently produce error free output, concerned with maintaining standards of accuracy and quality.
6.) Computer Literacy - The Job holder is required to use the tools on the computer to enhance the impact of documents/presentations.
