Construction Cost Planner

Job Description:



Department: FM & Maintenance.

The Post: Construction Cost Manager.

As a Construction Cost Planner you will be responsible for Front-End Cost Planning of projects across the group. Working closely with internal and external clients as well as other stakeholders, from project inception through to presentation to main board you will be responsible for all financial and cost planning aspects of the projects.
•Accurately quantify, price and produce cost plans from concept designs and estimate rates from first principle on one and two stage tenders.
•Secure market prices for trade packages and forecast cost prices on a Labour, Plant and Materials.
•Assess the impact of contract conditions including warranties, insurance, bonding, design and construction implications etc.
•Ensure the provision of accurate data from Procurement, Design Management, Planning, Construction and Commercial Management into the cost planning process.
•Prepare and submit cost planning tender documentation for Management reviews.



Skills & Experience:
•To be considered for this opportunity you must have a minimum of 5 years experience in a cost control and estimating role within commercial property development.
•You should be fully conversant with cost planning tools and software and have extensive knowledge of the construction / market rates and their influencing factors.
•You have a proven track record of producing cost plans from concept specifications for a variety of projects.
•You have an exceptional attention to detail and excellent Measurement and Quantification skills.
•Experience of Education projects would be a distinct advantage but is not essential.
•Excellent Communications Skills including presentation of cost plans in differing formats and report writing.
