Job Description
The Project Manager is responsible for managing projects or initiatives, depending on scope and complexity to deliver the agreed project outcomes and objectives within the agreed scope, quality, effort, resources, risks, timeframes, contractual framework and customer satisfaction.
Ensures the integration and balance of the overall project management functions of scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk and procurement to deliver the project objectives that are aligned with business goals, strategies and objectives.
Manages the agreed scope of the project and the application of project scope controls.
Manages the development, implementation and maintenance of the project schedule to deliver the project within agreed timeframes, resources and budget.
Identifies the project vendor costs and invoices to define a specified project vendor budget, utilizing this budget as the principal mechanism to control project costs.
Confirms that all vendor costs and invoices are aligned with agreed budget cash flow and completion of deliverables.
Ensures compliance with the financial management principles and policies
Ensures the quality of projects by determining quality requirements, implementing quality assurance processes and using review and evaluation to make quality improvements in current projects, recommending improvements for future projects.
Plans for human resource requirements, identifying and coordinating any project specific training and education, monitoring project staff for performance.
Establishes communication processes that link people, ideas and information through all stages of the project life cycle. This includes managing the timely and appropriate generation, collection, dissemination, storage, evaluation and disposal of project information through formal structures and processes to facilitate the achievement of project objectives.
Manages procurement and contracts within the project, including determining procurement requirements, establishing agreed procurement processes, conducting contracting and procurement activities and finalization processes. This also includes monitoring vendor delivery of deliverables within agreed timeframe, cost and quality parameters.
Delivers all project reporting requirements, complying with project management principles and practices, ensuring escalation and management of all project risks, issues and change controls as determined by Analytical Informatics management.
candidate requirements
Essential Qualifications & Competencies
Bachelor's Degree in Management, Project Management, Information Technology or related field.
3+ years project management, personnel, financial, vendor management experience including project design, implementation, reporting and evaluation in a healthcare environment.
Clinical Information System project management experience.
Preferred Qualifications & Competencies
Master's Degree Preferred
5 + Years Clinical Background, Preferred
Cerner Project Management Experience, Preferred
Recognized Project Management Certification such as Prince2 or PM, Preferred
