A nonprofit humanitarian and development organization, IRD improves lives and livelihoods through inclusion, engagement, and empowerment. We build lasting relationships and strengthen our beneficiaries’ capabilities to create sustainable change and direct their own development. IRD is recruiting for highly motivated and experienced staff for an anticipated program entitled the “Jordan Community Engagement Program.” The goal of the program is to strengthen community and national engagement in the context of regional volatility and transitions associated with domestic policy reform, economic conditions and demographic changes. The goal will be supported by the achievement of three objectives:


1.Expand NGO, community organization, professional association and government efforts to build resilience and address cohesion-related challenges;
2.Increase civil society-government-private sector cooperation in building resilience and addressing cohesion-related challenges; and
3.Strengthen skills and build other capacity relevant to community and national cohesion.



The following position is contingent on receipt of funding for the program.



PURPOSE:

Responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services for the company according to its available budget and in accordance with USAID and IRD rules and regulations.



IT Assistant:

•Supervise and assist with the IT needs of all country and satellite offices in coordination with the IT Manager.
•Maintains infrastructure and security sector data models for both legacy data and new data supplied from multiple internal and external sources. In this function, extensive work and collaboration with program teams and their clients;
•Serves as the IT help desk for the program.
•Keeps the program databases and shared drives operational, designing and implementing appropriate backup strategies and planning for system upgrades; and
•Other duties as assigned.



Education Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.



Experience Requirement:

- 1 or more years of experience in a similar role.



Skills Required:

1.Demonstrated working experience administering and developing database systems.
2.Fluency in English and French.
3.Experience with database replication, recovery and backup.
4.Interest or experience with mobile applications development is a plus
5.Certifications in: Java Programmer, Postgress SQL, ESRI Developer, GIS Professional preferred.
6.Outstanding communication skills, fluent in English and Arabic.
7.Willingness to travel outside of Amman to set-up basic IT infrastructure.
8.Reliable, honest, transparent; commitment for hard work and exceptional work ethics.
