Global Nomads Group (GNG) is an international NGO whose mission is to foster dialogue and understanding among the world’s youth. GNG engages and empowers young people worldwide using media, including: interactive videoconferencing, webcasting, social networking, gaming, and participatory filmmaking. GNG operates at the intersection of international and peace education, striving to serve as a vehicle for awareness, bridging the boundaries of cultural misconceptions and instilling in our audience a heightened appreciation and comprehension of the world in which they live.
Our current program includes semester and year-long virtual exchange programs between students in the US and peers in Sub-Saharan Africa, Central and South East Asia, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). In addition, GNG offers The PULSE, a weekly series of programs that bring together students from around North America to discuss and debate international issues in a virtual “town-hall” setting.
Global Nomads Group (GNG) is seeking a Program Coordinator to: 1) support the implementation of our GNG MENA programs; 2) support program outreach efforts; 3) support GNG office operations in the MENA region
Reports to: MENA Programs Manager
Location: Amman – Jordan
Job Description
•Support MENA Program Manager to achieve program goals and objectives in accordance with work plans,
•Assist in the recruitment of program beneficiaries and partners,
•Coordinate and schedule logistics of program activities
•Support and maintain a professional relationship with GNG program partners
•Support GNG MENA outreach efforts
•Contribute to GNG Social Media as applicable and manage collaborative online platform
•General Office Administration and support,
•Any other duties assigned by Program Manager
Qualifications (Candidate Profile):
•Four-year college degree in relevant subject areas
•Open to flexible working hours based on program demands
•Multi-task oriented, well-organized, great attention to details and efficient time management skills.
•First hand experience in the MENA region is required.
•Knowledge in media outlets and journalistic pieces development would be an advantage.
•A command of oral and written Arabic and English.
•Must be passionate and committed to the empowerment of youth through innovative projects relating to youth and media.
•Internet and computer proficient; knowledge of technology and media production is required.
•Willingness to travel around the MENA region as required.
•Impeccable interpersonal, communication, research and presentation skills as well as strong writing skills.
•Must be a team player, adaptable, and self-motivated.
•Experience building and utilizing project-based curricula is a plus
•Proven ability to maintain relationships with partners.
