Job Description and Requirements
The Royal Marine Conservation Society (JREDS) is a non-governmental not-for-profit organization working on conserving the marine environment of Jordan. JREDS has two offices; the headquarters in Amman and the operational office in Aqaba. For more information about JREDS, please visit www.jreds.org.
JREDS is looking for a candidate to work in Aqaba office as a Technical Assistant for JREDS projects.
The Technical Assistant will:
1.Support the implementation of the projects.
2.Facilitate the definition of the projects scope, goals and deliverables.
3.Make suggestions and follow instructions in relation to the projects.
4.Support the projects budget management.
5.Track projects deliverables using appropriate tools.
6.Present reports defining projects progress, problems and solutions and according to the donors format and regulations.
7.Implement and manage projects changes and interventions to achieve projects outputs.
8.Projects evaluations and assessment of results.
9.Communicate with the target groups of the projects, ex. Schools, CBOs, local community, etc.
10.Conduct regular field visits related to the projects.
This position reports directly to both Aqaba Office Coordinator and the Projects Coordinator.
Knowledge and Experience:
•A bachelor's degree in water management and environment, sciences fields, environmental engineering or general management, tourism, sustainable development.
•1-2 years of experience in the NGOs fields and donors.
•Experience in program management and implementation.
•Fluency in Arabic and English both written and spoken.
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and related programs.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills.
