Job Description
Marketing
• Discuss and understand the marketing manager’s objectives and streamline PR/Communications accordingly
• Be familiar with the shopping mall’s USP and historical attributes
• Discuss and understand the mall’s promotional and events calendar as well as initiatives
• Understand the media plan in order to exploit PR opportunities fully
• Liaise with the marketing team to check/proof all Arabic copy for promotional campaigns, advertisements, radio and internal collaterals
• Translate documents from English to Arabic
• Liaise with the marketing team in relation to annual media for the purpose of securing additional PR exposure
• Regularly update the website with PR and relevant newsworthy information
• Approach companies and secure sponsorships to support and negotiate barter deals with magazines for additional exposure during the year
• Manage and write the bimonthly enewsletter which is produced inhouse
Tourism
• Develop relations with tourism departments, operators and hotels
• Promote services and loyalty programs or incentives
• Assist Government representatives from the DTCM (tourism) who visit the mall with delegations for PR purposes
Public Relations
• Develop and maintain goodwill and rapport with the English and Arabic media
• Write regular press releases in English and Arabic to promote events, promotions, new store openings and relevant news
• Develop media and press relations in order to ensure that all events are properly exposed by way of FOC editorials and advertorials
• Organise media events for fashion shows and key events (such as DSF and DSS)
• Extend invites to press and invite photographers to capture images to support events and promotions
• Prepare press events, informational packs and write ups to support the same
• Be comfortable and fluent with group speaking and interview processes
• Explore free PR opportunities on radio and TV wherever possible
• Attend VIP events, press conferences & functions and opening ceremonies
• Promote inhouse and store promotions i.e. new openings, events such as valentines, new product ranges, etc.
• Follow up with store tenants in regards to obtaining store write ups, logos and visual images
• Assist with new store openings and launches
• Provide PR support for tenants particularly for new store openings
• Provide tenants with press clippings and insertions where featured during events
• Handle DTCM, VIP groups and other visiting delegations in coordination with the Operations and Business Development Manager
Candidate Profile
*English and Arabic fluency, both spoken and written
*3 years min in a PR agency or inhouse role, responsible for a corporate account or large brand
*MENA experience
*Good computer skills are vital
*Excellent presentation skills
