Job Description and Requirements
The Head of Finance MENA is responsible for the development, maintenance and control of the financials systems as well as manages the feasibilities and implementation of corporate and other strategic programs.
Responsibilities:
Financial Accountabilities
•Maintain and improve on company’s accounting rules and systems.
•Define financial policies for the short, mid and long terms and ensure their implementation and management.
•Provide support and leadership role in decisions affecting the business.
•Direct and control the daily activities of the regional accountants.
•Maintain consistent local, regional and consolidated management reporting in line with the agreed KPI.
•Ensure that revenue is recognized in accordance with IFRS.
•Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements including fully supported consolidated balance sheet, P&L and cash flow.
•Ensure monthly inter-company nettings and reconciliations.
Audit responsibilities
•Coordinate with the Group Finance Director to finalize template for consolidated financial statements with Auditors.
•Prepare notes to financial statements.
•Consolidate, prepare and issue all MENA financial statements and ensure their value and reliability in compliance with IFRS.
•Liaise with auditors in relation to the consolidated MENA financial statements.
Banking
•Negotiating bank facilities for the MENA region.
•Arranging TR’s/ Bills discounting/ Overdraft with Banks to streamline cash requirements.
Budget Control and Forecasting Accountabilities
•Prepare company’s budget procedures taking into consideration the local requirements, management reporting requirements and other KPIs.
•Prepare the consolidated MENA budgets and forecasts for the group from ERP with actual compared to plan.
•Analyze variations from budget plan and results and assist in determining and applying corrective and preventive measures as needed.
•Investigate and assist other countries in MENA region for all financial and budgeting issues.
•Define accounting, management and finance job descriptions and select the related key staff members who will have supervision and control authority.
•Maintain control over the cash and treasury function to enhance cash flow in the company.
•Assist Regional Accountants in follow-up on overdue invoices and difficult customer accounts and help and advice on strategies to improve recovery of difficult payments.
•Adhere to predefined sales processes.
•Follow-up on receivables mainly those related to difficult accounts
Teamwork, External, and Internal Accountabilities
• Provide support and leadership to the accounting team in their daily works
•Provide training on the accounting and financial procedures to line managers as needed
•Explain and present the monthly financial results including fully supported P&L, Balance sheet and Cash flow for the group.
•Amend, update and maintain the company policies in direct consultation with the Group Finance Director
•Support Sales & Implementation teams by adopting standard operating procedures for customer invoicing, payroll processing, expense processing
•Maintain consistent financial procedures across vendors
•Consolidate monthly financials and discuss individual country results with Directors & GMs
•Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Group Finance Director
Ideal Background
Technical skills:
•Min 10 years of experience in Finance
•Professional qualified – CA,
•Knowledge of Great Plains
•Strong consolidation skills under IFRS
•Strong budgetary planning and control skills
•Long term financial planning experience
•Sound understanding of accounting
•Experience with working with Big 4.
