IT Help Desk Technician

Our client, global management consulting firm is currently seeking to recruit an IT Help Desk Technician

You will be reporting to the IT manager (based in Dubai) and will be responsible for providing 1st and 2nd line IT support to users based in company’s Group offices across the Middle East.

Key Role and responsibilities
• Provides 1st and 2nd line help desk support to 100 plus users.;
• Liaises with our outsourced 1st line phone support to resolve open help desk tickets.;
• Identify, research, and resolve technical problems.;
• Support, monitor, test, and troubleshoot hardware and software problems pertaining to laptops, desktops, printers, scanners, copiers, phones, projectors, fax machine.;
• Install and configure workstations based on company needs and requirements.;
• Removal of spyware and virus removal from computers.;
• Maintain and update hardware and software inventory.;
• Liaise with vendors to claim warranty of laptops/desktops and Blackberry devices.;
• Activate/deactivate office access cards.;
• Assist IT manager in projects.;
• Willing to work additional/extra hours, sometimes on weekends.;
• Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times;
• Ability to cope under pressure and work to tight deadlines.; 

Knowledge & skills
• Degree in Information Technology or related.
• Microsoft Certified.
• In depth knowledge of Windows XP, Windows 7 and Windows Vista;
• Knowledge of Virtual machines.;
• Knowledge of Office 2003, Office 2007.;
• Knowledge BlackBerry devices.;
• Good written and verbal skills in English.;
