The GM - Investments & Acquisitions - Corporate Development reports to the Group Director, Corporate Development and is responsible for the full life cycle of Al-Futtaim Group's Corporate Development activities with a focus on M&A including sourcing, tracking and executing acquisitions. This role is responsible for analyzing acquisition opportunities, managing multiple projects simultaneously, while collaborating and working directly with internal business leaders and external advisors.
- Responsible for the full life cycle of M&A activities including sourcing, tracking and executing acquisitions
- Serve as a senior member of the internal M&A team and coordinating with key company leadership as opportunities arise
- Manage the entire due diligence process including working closely with internal business partners and various internal departments including finance and legal to ensure that the processes and agreements are handled appropriately
- Guide acquisition target research, building detailed financial models, and helping to support the execution of transactions
- Preparation of internal investment memorandums for presentation to Investment Committee
- Support and maintain a network of investment bankers and industry experts
- Lead or assist internal teams with 3rd party negotiations
- Oversee and track the development of integration planning and execution from business case development to execution and post-closing value capture
- Guide the process and support the overall M&A team best practices
- Acquire new customers by identifying / developing business development opportunities
- Drive strategic analysis and recommendation of new business opportunities / markets
- Lead & program manage corporate strategic opportunities across the company
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
- MBA
- Minimum 10 years experience
- Integration, business operations and/or project management
- Strong financial modeling and valuation capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive effective process management
- M&A/ Investment Banking and/or Corporate Development Experience
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Comfortable working across different functions and at different levels in the company
- Experience executing deals in the MENA region
- Strong leadership & team building skills
- Creative and problem solving skills
- Strategic thinker
- Fluency in Arabic and English
