AMEinfo is seeking a Content Manager for a new-launch site, to edit and control the content across the pages on SMEinfo, ensuring that the highest standards of content are maintained.
Reporting to the Editor, your main responsibilities in this role are:
• Ability to provide content that challenges and stimulates readers
• Ability to write features and other analytical stories
• Ability to develop and maintain a network of contacts
• To gather and produce valuable data on relevant sectors, and verify accuracy
• To generate ideas for interviews and features, including profiles, interviews and analysis
• To ensure accuracy of content at all times
• To research and write blogs and opinion pieces and other online offerings
• To act as an ambassador for SMEinfo at functions/exhibitions/events during working hours as well as in the evenings or at weekends as required.
• To work on special projects such as supplements/seminars/awards or any other publishing venture that becomes part of SMEinfo’s operation
• To ensure that all copy is libel-free, accurate, follows house style and is relevant to SMEinfo subscribers.
• To meet all deadlines as may be laid down
• To be willing and able to give media interviews on your sector
• To thoroughly research all feature articles, interviewing as many relevant individuals as possible for each article
• To actively support and grow the brand and brand awareness across social media platforms in English and Arabic
• To monitor active communications on social media platforms to ensure messages are consistent with the brand and at a relevant frequency
• Competitor monitoring and reporting of competitor activities, new entrants etc. which may affect business strategy
If you have:
• A recognised journalistic qualification equivalent to NCTJ standard
• Arabic and English to a good written and spoken standard
• Thorough knowledge of social media and trends
• Business writing background preferred
